I attempted to get into it some time back and frankly I was bothered by a good deal about UI, the engine, and artstyle along with the MTX. RS3 has an oddly high FoV that you can’t scale that make it look as if your looking through a wide lens all of the time. I would turn it down if there was an option to do so. Unfortunately there is absolutely no option to scale the FoV. Guild wars 2 is an example of a game which started with no choice and FoV to change it. They ended up adding the choice on and I hope RS3 follows suit. The UI is really a mess. Understanding how to use it, there are tons of choices that should be grouped together, or moved completely, although it’s something I needed to learn how to use. On top of that the majority of the clutter the screen like older WoW overlays and it’s pretty ugly looking.
I am playing at 1440p and it is too small, I can only imagine what playing at 4k is like. I frankly don’t know about the main OSRS customer in regards to this, but runelite has scalable UI and that I need it scaled up about 125%-150%. People recommended changing my windows resolution to 1080p and I had been left to wonder what season it was because that’s obscene and will make RuneScape game overall look worse. The final thing is merely a criticism, but I dislike the swap which came before RS3. I am not a hardcore OSRS picture protector either like I played primarily mostly when RSHD first launched and actually really enjoyed that engine and some of the newest styles that came along with it. A lot of the graphics and armor stylings in OSRS gold seem to mesh together in a very bland manner that feels like something from a budget cellular game that is greater.
To also keep in with graphic styles I have not even mentioned everybody utilizing money shop skins that are all completely out of place and uninspired. I played other MMOs who had an eye on MTX cash store outfits (mostly guild wars 2) and in least of these outfits really looked like they belonged in RuneScape match in some way shape or form. RS3 proceeded ignored it and changed its design philosophy. On the scale of everything these are small issues, but it made me stop playing when they all stack on top of eachother. There was too much resistance when it came to figuring out that reveals a level of unprofessionalism when it comes to layout and the way to do things.
This isn’t to completely shit on buy RuneScape gold. There’s a lot of QoL changes that I found to be really nice such as the toolbelt, currency pouch, and also the complete necessary rework to mining and smithing (that’s honestly needed in OSRS) only as a few examples. I simply would not state that the MTX is the only bad thing about RS3, once I feel it has motor, graphical and UI issues and (in my opinion just for this one) an abysmal art fashion in which the MTX outfits do not even match that design philosophy.
